A witness-only hit-and-run with no reported injuries was reported at 7:28 p.m. Aug. 15 on westbound Interstate 8 near the Hotel Circle Drive on-ramp in San Diego. The dispatch information did not identify the vehicles involved or describe the circumstances of the collision.
The incident was reported from the westbound I-8 and Hotel Circle Drive area. CHP classified the call as a hit-and-run with no injuries reported.
At 7:48 p.m., CHP reported that an officer was with a vehicle behind the Homewood Suites on Hotel Circle. The agency was still confirming whether the vehicle was the suspect vehicle or the vehicle involved in the incident.
The dispatch information identified the location as witness-only, indicating that the collision was reported by someone who witnessed it. No additional injury information, lane closures or traffic restrictions were documented in the available CHP updates.
