A traffic collision was reported on westbound State Route 58 at The Tunnels on Aug. 21, 2026, at 2:11 p.m. The California Highway Patrol classified the incident as a collision with no reported injuries.
The crash occurred in the area covered by the CHP’s Mojave office. Dispatch information identified the affected direction of travel as westbound.
At about 3:03 p.m., CHP reported that crews were closing one lane because of the collision. The lane closure created a roadway restriction at The Tunnels on westbound State Route 58.
