**Watsonville, CA (May 7, 2026)** – A man lost his life after his e-scooter collided with a pickup truck on Wednesday, May 6, near the intersection of Second Street and Rodriguez Street in Watsonville. The crash occurred at approximately 1:52 p.m. in front of the Watsonville Fire Department. Authorities reported that the man, thought to be in his 40s, was transported to a hospital following the crash. He succumbed to his injuries afterward. The pickup truck driver remained at the scene and worked with investigators. Part of the roadway was anticipated to remain shut down until approximately 5 p.m. while the scene was being managed. The man’s identity was not disclosed in the first report. The crash is still being investigated. Further information could emerge as officials proceed with their investigation.
