Ventura, CA (September 12, 2025) – On Thursday afternoon, a crash involving two vehicles resulted in several lanes on Highway 33 (North Ventura Ave) being shut down, as reported by the California Highway Patrol. The collision was first reported on September 11 around 1:22 PM, close to the intersection of North Ventura Ave and Park View Dr. Preliminary information suggests that a white Volkswagen Jetta and a white Ford Ranger pickup truck were involved in the incident. The events prior to the incident are still being examined. Traffic was heavily affected in both lanes of Hwy 33 as police and emergency services arrived at the location. Emergency responders provided help to those affected, while medical teams assessed individuals for any injuries. Although the specific number and seriousness of injuries haven’t been revealed, first responders on the scene treated at least one individual who needed additional medical attention. The significant damage and debris from the accident led to temporary closures of lanes in both directions on the highway while officials carried out cleanup and investigations. The area remained bustling for an extended time, causing delays for drivers passing through. The CHP has not reported any tickets or arrests in connection with the event and is encouraging witnesses or anyone with dashcam recordings to step forward as the investigation continues.
