A vehicle struck a building while traveling through the drive-thru at a Del Taco on Madison Avenue in California on Aug. 27, 2026. The incident was reported to the California Highway Patrol at about 2:27 p.m. and was classified as a hit-and-run with no injuries.
The collision occurred within the restaurant’s drive-thru area, according to CHP dispatch information. The available report did not identify the vehicle involved or describe the extent of the building damage.
A subsequent CHP update stated that another party recorded the entire incident. That recording may document the vehicle striking the building and provide information about the vehicle’s departure.
The dispatch information did not list any medical response, lane closures or towing activity. CHP’s report identified the incident as a property-damage hit-and-run and noted that no injuries were reported.
