A vehicle-versus-dog collision was reported near 58th Avenue and Jackson Street in California early Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026. The California Highway Patrol classified the incident as a traffic collision with no reported injuries.
The collision was recorded at approximately 1:33 a.m. The dispatch location identified the intersection of 58th Avenue and Jackson Street, within the CHP Indio area.
A later CHP update at about 2:30 a.m. described the incident as involving a vehicle and a dog. The update also indicated that the dog was on the roadway after the collision.
Animal control was advised about the dog, according to the dispatch information. No additional injuries, lane closures, or roadway impacts were documented in the available CHP updates.
