Valley Center, CA (March 17, 2026) – Two fatalities and one injury resulted from a head-on collision in Valley Center on Sunday, March 15. The crash happened just after 5 p.m. At the intersection of Cole Grade Road and Fruitvale Road, authorities reported that a Honda Accord traveling south on Cole Grade Road collided with a Nissan Frontier heading north, which crossed the double yellow line for unknown reasons. The truck veered into the southbound lane and collided head-on with the Honda. The Nissan driver was pronounced dead at the scene prior to transport to a hospital. The Honda driver and a 75-year-old female passenger were both seriously injured and transported to a local hospital. The passenger subsequently succumbed to her injuries. The names of the two deceased individuals have not been disclosed yet and will be released after their families have been informed. It’s unclear if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. Officials are still probing the incident’s cause, with further information to be shared as it emerges. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the deceased’s family amid this challenging period.
