Vacaville, CA (April 2, 2026) – A 28-year-old Sacramento man died early Monday, March 30, following a crash on Interstate 80 in Vacaville that ejected him from his vehicle and left him struck by several other cars. The incident occurred around 2:57 a.m. On eastbound I-80, just west of Lagoon Valley Road. According to reports, the man was driving a Toyota Corolla that veered off the right side of the freeway, crossed all lanes, and collided with the center divider wall. The vehicle stopped, blocking traffic lanes. A Honda Accord then struck the disabled vehicle at around 70 mph. The impact’s force threw the Toyota driver onto the roadway, where he was subsequently hit by other vehicles, such as a Mercedes and a Kia. Emergency responders at the scene confirmed the man was pronounced dead on site. The Honda driver reportedly admitted to being distracted during the crash. The Kia occupants paused momentarily before departing the scene, as the Mercedes driver stayed in the vicinity. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed yet. Officials are still probing the reason behind the crash, with additional information to be shared as it emerges. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the deceased’s family in this trying period.
