A traffic collision with unknown injuries was reported Wednesday afternoon on southbound State Route 99 in the South Sacramento area. The California Highway Patrol dispatch log placed the incident at about 4:28 p.m. on Aug. 26, 2026.
The location was listed as southbound State Route 99 at the point identified in the dispatch record as 0 SR-99 S. The report did not include descriptions of the vehicles involved or indicate how many vehicles were part of the collision.
The initial CHP incident classification identified the crash as a traffic collision with unknown injuries. The dispatch information did not document an ambulance, fire response, trapped occupants, lane closures or other roadway impacts.
A later update at about 4:32 p.m. stated that the Freeway Service Patrol had closed its incident. The available CHP information did not provide additional details about the circumstances of the collision or the condition of anyone involved.
