A two-vehicle traffic collision was reported Thursday afternoon on southbound State Route 51, just south of El Camino Avenue in Northern Sacramento. The California Highway Patrol classified the incident as involving unknown injuries.
The collision was reported at approximately 3:56 p.m. on Aug. 20, 2026. The location was listed as southbound State Route 51 just south of El Camino Avenue.
A follow-up CHP dispatch two minutes later stated that both vehicles were on the right-hand shoulder. The update did not indicate that either vehicle remained in a travel lane.
The CHP dispatch information did not provide further details about the vehicles, the circumstances of the collision or the condition of those involved. The incident was handled within the CHP’s North Sacramento area.
