(Phoenix, AZ) A significant accident occurred on Monday, November 17, involving a freeway hit-and-run, which has resulted in several individuals being admitted to the hospital following an incident on 75th Avenue in west Phoenix. According to the Phoenix Police Department and the Arizona Department of Public Safety, emergency services were alerted around 4:00 a.m. to the vicinity of 75th Avenue and Van Buren Street. Upon their arrival, they discovered a red SUV that had collided with two semi-trucks and was on fire. Firefighters put out the fire and rescued at least two individuals from the debris. Emergency personnel took both individuals to a medical facility for care, but their current states have not been disclosed. Authorities report that the SUV was involved in a prior hit-and-run incident on Interstate 10 prior to the fiery collision at 75th Avenue. DPS verified the link between the two incidents. They found that the SUV hit a different vehicle on the freeway before leaving and crashing into the semis. The intersection is closed for a lengthy investigation as officials try to figure out what caused the series of incidents. Summary of the 75th Avenue Hit-and-Run. When a driver escapes the scene of an accident, investigators refer to the Hit-and-Run Statute.
