Tracy, CA (January 27, 2026) – A crash involving multiple vehicles on Interstate 5 near the Interstate 205 junction in Tracy injured one person Sunday evening. The incident was reported at about 5:56 p.m. The incident involved at least four vehicles and drew a response from the California Highway Patrol and emergency medical services. Officials confirmed one person was injured and taken to Sutter Roseville Medical Center for care. The extent of the injuries remains undisclosed, though no deaths occurred at the scene. Emergency responders cleared the wrecked vehicles from the road as investigators started probing the crash’s cause. The section of I-5 near the I-205 junction stayed partially blocked during the response, causing slight traffic backups in the vicinity. The factors behind the multi-vehicle collision are still unknown. Investigators are examining the sequence of events, vehicle positions, and potential contributing factors, including speed or driver distraction.
