(San Diego, CA) On Thursday evening, January 1, three individuals were hurt in a crash on Ocean View Boulevard in the Mountain View area when a Volkswagen Passat veered into oncoming traffic. San Diego police arrived at the scene around 7:37 p.m. to the 3800 block of Ocean View Blvd. Investigators say the westbound Passat veered into the eastbound lanes and collided head-on with a Kia Soul. The 33-year-old Passat driver sustained severe internal injuries that threatened his life. The 61-year-old Kia driver suffered a leg injury, while her 63-year-old passenger sustained a broken femur. Authorities state that alcohol played a role in the accident. The investigation continues, and individuals with information are urged to reach out to SDPD or Crime Stoppers.
