Thousand Palms, CA (April 14, 2026) – A collision involving multiple vehicles, including a semi truck and a cement truck, resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries on Interstate 10 near Washington St. The incident was reported at approximately 7:50 a.m. On Tuesday, April 14, located just west of Washington Street. Investigators reported that a semi truck heading eastbound abruptly swerved into the center median, crossed over into the westbound lanes, and smashed into a cement truck. The collision left the semi blocking the roadway, where it was subsequently hit by a Jeep. The crash also caused further collisions with four vehicles in the eastbound lanes. The cement truck driver, a 62-year-old man from Yucca Valley, was declared dead at the scene. The 38-year-old semi truck driver from Menifee sustained serious injuries and was transported to a Palm Springs hospital. Officials reported that six individuals were transported to hospitals with injuries varying from serious to minor. The authorities are still probing the cause of the crash, with additional information to be shared as it emerges. We offer our deepest sympathies to the family of the deceased.
