Fullerton, CA (May 23, 2026) – A motorcyclist was killed in a roadway collision with a Tesla Cybertruck Friday afternoon in Fullerton. According to police, the two-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 3:27 p.m. near the intersection of West Orangethorpe Avenue and South Gilbert Street. A preliminary investigation determined that a man on a brown Honda Navi motorcycle was traveling east through the intersection when a westbound Tesla Cybertruck tried to turn south onto Gilbert Street. Officials said the motorcycle struck the side of the Cybertruck as it was turning. Emergency responders arrived soon after and transported the rider to a local hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries. The victim’s name has not been released as authorities are still notifying family members. Investigators noted that it’s still uncertain if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, as the details of the incident continue to be examined. Our deepest sympathies go out to the rider’s family and loved ones at this challenging time. How Intersection Collision Cases Are Typically Investigated. Collisions between turning vehicles and motorcycles typically necessitate a thorough examination of traffic flow and sightlines. Investigators might assess whether both drivers had an unobstructed view, the speed of the vehicles involved, and whether traffic lights or signal timing played a role in the events leading to the collision. Motorcycles are often more difficult for turning drivers to notice, particularly at congested intersections with multiple lanes or during heavy afternoon traffic. Vehicle positioning, tire skid marks, and impact damage can help reconstruct how the vehicles collided.
