(Oceanside, CA) On Friday evening, January 30, a 13-year-old girl sustained serious injuries when she was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene in a crash on Douglas Drive. Oceanside Police Department officers were dispatched around 7:40 p.m. To Douglas Drive and Pala Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered the teenage victim lying in the roadway, suffering severe injuries. First responders offered on-site care before organizing swift transport. Police reported that, given the extent of her injuries, they airlifted the girl to a hospital for medical attention. Officials reported that the Oceanside victim had stable vital signs during transport. Officials provided no information on the events preceding the collision or the girl’s location on the road. Police reported that the driver fled the scene without stopping after the incident. According to initial details, investigators suspect the vehicle is a gray Toyota Camry featuring front-end damage. No arrests were announced by officers, and the driver’s identity was still unknown as the investigation proceeded. Detectives urged anyone with details on the hit-and-run to reach out to the Oceanside Police Department.
