Pedestrian accidents in parking lots represent a unique type of traffic crash in California. In contrast to crashes on public highways, parking lot incidents typically take place in private areas governed by distinct regulations for speed, signs, and right-of-way. These incidents are still regarded seriously and usually prompt a complete response from emergency services no matter the location. When a pedestrian becomes unconscious after a crash, medical personnel focus first on evaluating for head injuries, spinal damage, and internal bleeding.
