A traffic collision was reported at the intersection of State Routes 177 and 62 at about 9:43 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, in the California Highway Patrol’s Indio area. An ambulance was listed as en route to the scene, although the dispatch did not provide an injury assessment.
The location was described as being on the northbound side of the intersection area. CHP later reported that activity and vehicles associated with the incident were on the right-hand side of the roadway.
The southbound lane remained closed during roadway cleanup, according to a CHP update issued at 3:33 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9. The closure continued while crews worked to clear the scene.
A CHP unit was expected to remain at the location until the roadway and incident were fully cleared. The dispatch did not provide additional information about the vehicles involved or the circumstances of the collision.
