A traffic collision was reported at about 3:52 p.m. Aug. 18 on southbound Interstate 280 just north of the Winchester Boulevard off-ramp in California. The California Highway Patrol classified the incident as a collision with injuries unknown.
By 3:57 p.m., CHP reported that all vehicles involved had been moved to the right-hand shoulder. Debris remained in the left lane after the vehicles were cleared from the main roadway.
CHP indicated that some of the debris could dissipate as traffic passed through the area. The dispatch information did not specify the number or types of vehicles involved.
No additional information about injuries, emergency medical treatment or a final roadway clearance was provided in the dispatch update. The reported location was the southbound side of I-280 near the Winchester Boulevard off-ramp.
