A 34-year-old motorcyclist lost his life in a collision on Extension Road near University Drive, a tragedy that has now resulted in an arrest months later. Mesa police reported that 59-year-old Danica Zunich was arrested on Thursday, December 4, during a traffic stop. She had an outstanding warrant related to the previous investigation. Officials stated that the accident occurred shortly after 9 p.m. on June 28th. Zunich tried to make a left turn onto Extension Road without yielding to an approaching motorcycle with two passengers. Both riders were taken to the hospital by emergency services. Seth Hoffman, the motorcyclist, succumbed to his wounds. The female passenger endured severe emotional distress and needed considerable medical attention, though she managed to survive the incident. Investigators have submitted charges to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, which include manslaughter, aggravated assault, possession of a dangerous drug, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
