San Francisco, CA (May 31, 2026) – California Highway Patrol logs report that one person was killed in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 30, after a multi-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck and several passenger cars on eastbound Interstate 80 near the 7th Street off-ramp. The collision happened just after 1:30 a.m. A gray sedan and a semi-truck crashed on eastbound Interstate 80 near the 7th Street exit. Investigators reported that the collision triggered a multi-vehicle pileup involving several other passenger cars and a subsequent chain-reaction crash. According to CHP records, debris and vehicles obstructed multiple lanes, and at least one car flipped over in the incident. Emergency responders attended a major incident that caused lane closures and prolonged cleanup efforts. One individual was confirmed to have died in the crash. Other people were also reported as trapped or hurt, but the logs did not immediately provide complete details on their injuries. Officials eventually reopened all lanes following several hours of investigation and cleanup efforts. We extend our deepest condolences to the family and all those mourning this loss.
