How Impaired Driving Contributes to Head-On Collisions. Head-on crashes often happen when a vehicle crosses into oncoming traffic. On roads like Donovan Rd, even a brief lane departure can result in a direct impact with another vehicle.. Driving under the influence can affect judgment, reaction time, and the ability to stay within a lane. These impairments increase the risk of severe collisions, especially at intersections or along two-way streets.. Even when injuries are described as minor, head-on crashes can cause significant vehicle damage and create dangerous conditions for others nearby. Enforcement efforts and public awareness remain key factors in reducing impaired driving incidents on local roadways.
