Santa Clarita, CA (May 14, 2026) – Thirteen people were injured Wednesday when a gravel-hauling semi-truck collided with a transit bus and two other vehicles. The accident occurred at approximately 9:30 in the morning. At the corner of Golden Valley Road and Centre Pointe Parkway, officials reported that the truck was traveling roughly 70 mph in a 50 mph zone as it approached the intersection on a yellow light. The driver tried to make a right turn to avoid the red light and collided with a Santa Clarita Transit bus as well as two white sedans. The collision was so forceful that the tractor-trailer flipped over, gravel littered the intersection, and one car became wedged partly beneath the bus. A bus passenger had to be extricated with rescue tools and was still in critical condition in the hospital as of Wednesday afternoon. Seven more individuals were transported to hospitals, whereas five others at the location refused medical care. The accident also disrupted school bus routes for two nearby high schools for as long as the intersection stayed closed. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and more information will be released as it becomes available. We are keeping the injured in our thoughts as they get medical treatment.
