On October 5, 2025, in Santa Barbara, CA, a minor collision occurred in the afternoon between a Metropolitan Transit District (MTD) bus and a Sun Shuttle and Transit bus, leading to some minor injuries. The accident happened shortly after 4:00 PM on Modoc Rd close to Calle de los Amigos. The Santa Barbara Fire Department arrived with two fire engines and an ambulance. Emergency responders evaluated and provided care to those who suffered minor injuries in the event. There was no need for emergency medical treatment, and all individuals involved in the incident are anticipated to make a full recovery. The collision caused both buses to be partially obstructing the road, which led to traffic delays while responders addressed the situation. Authorities stated that the accident was of low speed; however, the involvement of two large transit vehicles made the emergency response more complicated. The reason for the crash is currently being investigated. Officials are investigating if the accident was caused by human error, technical malfunctions, or the condition of the road. We send our sincere wishes for a quick and easy recovery to those affected.
