The incident happened at approximately 11:00 a.m. According to the Santa Barbara City Fire Department, this occurred at the intersection of Montecito St and Rancheria St. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene following reports of an accident that involved a compact SUV, a pickup truck, and another passenger vehicle. Initial investigations suggest that the SUV was heading west on Montecito St when it collided with the back of the pickup truck. A third vehicle was included in the accident as a result of the collision. The driver of the SUV, who sustained unknown injuries, was taken by AMR to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for additional treatment. There were no reported injuries among the passengers of the other two vehicles involved. Nonetheless, the collision led to a fire in the engine compartment of the SUV. Firefighters in Santa Barbara swiftly managed to control and extinguish the blaze, stopping it from escalating or inflicting additional harm. The SUV and pickup truck incurred noticeable damage, while the third vehicle suffered only minor effects. The Santa Barbara Police Department is probing into the cause of the collision, considering potential factors like speed, distraction, or mechanical issues.
