On October 28, 2025, in San Jose, CA, a serious multiple vehicle collision occurred on Montague Expressway, resulting in at least two individuals sustaining critical injuries, as stated by the San Jose Fire Department’s emergency communications. The incident was reported around 9:30 p.m. on October 26, 2024, at the crossroads of Montague Expressway and Harris Way. Authorities verified that five cars were included, spread out over approximately 100 yards of road. Emergency teams rapidly increased their efforts, calling for several ambulances and extra assistance due to the possibility of a rescue situation. Two people suffered severe injuries and were treated by medical professionals from Engine 5 and Medic 78 at the scene, then taken to receive urgent medical attention. Two people sustained minor injuries, mainly consisting of pain, according to reports. Despite the severity of the accident, authorities affirmed that nobody was trapped within the wreckage. The appearance of an unidentified smell—potentially gas—led responding units, including Truck 30, to conduct additional inquiries to eliminate dangerous conditions. Firefighters, paramedics, and police stayed at the scene to oversee patient care, look into the cause of the accident, and handle the larger crash area. The precise reason for the crash is still being investigated, and Montague Expressway faced major traffic delays as teams worked overnight.
