San Jose, CA (March 14, 2026) – A pedestrian died after a vehicle struck them on Interstate 280 in San Jose. The incident happened around 10:20 p.m. On Thursday, March 12, by the 10th Street off-ramp from southbound I-280. Officials stated that the man was walking into oncoming traffic on the freeway lanes when he was struck. Emergency responders arrived to find the pedestrian unresponsive in the rightmost lane. Paramedics tried to treat the man at the scene, but he was declared dead. Authorities stated the driver who hit the pedestrian fled the area. The incident is under investigation as a hit-and-run crash. No additional details about the driver or vehicle have been disclosed. Officials are still probing the incident, with further information to be shared once it emerges. We offer our deepest sympathies to the family of the deceased.
