San Jose, CA (January 17, 2026) – An injury-involved traffic crash occurred Saturday afternoon on southbound US-101 near the Story Rd exit in San Jose. The incident took place at approximately 1:49 p.m. It occurred on January 17 and led to brief delays in the vicinity, per the California Highway Patrol. Emergency responders arrived at the site to help those hurt in the crash. Paramedics assessed the people involved and administered treatment, although the total number of victims and the extent of their injuries remain unconfirmed. Although one lane was quickly reopened following the crash, traffic backups continued while officials cleared the area and probed the cause. The details surrounding the cause of the collision are still being investigated. We extend our heartfelt wishes to everyone impacted and hope for a complete recovery for those injured.
