San Joaquin County, CA (April 16, 2026) – One person died after a vehicle struck them on Interstate 5 in San Joaquin County. The incident happened shortly after 4:30 a.m. On Thursday, April 16, along the northbound side of I-5 near the French Camp Rd offramp. Reports verified that a vehicle and a pedestrian were involved in the incident. Emergency services arrived at the scene, where the pedestrian was declared dead. Authorities have yet to disclose the victim’s identity. The circumstances preceding the crash are still unclear. The northbound lanes of I-5 were briefly shut down due to the crash but reopened around 6:00 a.m. Authorities are still probing the cause of the crash, with further details to be shared as they emerge.
