A 58-year-old man lost his life on Sunday, November 30th, in a vehicular collision on India Street in Hillcrest, San Diego, CA. The San Diego Police Department reported that the incident occurred in the 3500 block of India Street, and both officers and paramedics were dispatched to the scene. Before midnight on Saturday, authorities were informed about an incident where a pedestrian was hit by a car. The incident occurred while the pedestrian was crossing in the middle of the block. According to investigators, a silver or gray sedan traveling northbound on India street collided with the pedestrian, despite having a green light. The Medical Examiner’s Office in San Diego County has identified the deceased individual as Alexander Leroux. Paramedics took Leroux to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead at 12:38 a.m. On Sunday, the vehicle’s driver left the scene before the police arrived, and the case is being treated as a hit-and-run. Officials are encouraging anyone with information to reach out to the SDPD Traffic Division regarding the India Street Collision. In cases of hit-and-run fatalities involving pedestrians, investigators frequently examine various California traffic laws to assess responsibility and possible criminal charges. The Hit-and-Run Statute mandates that any driver involved in an accident that causes injury or death must stop, provide assistance, and notify law enforcement.
