San Diego, CA (January 30, 2026) – A two-car crash on Fifth Avenue in San Diego’s Hillcrest neighborhood Wednesday evening left two men hurt. The crash triggered a response from two hospitals and necessitated assistance from several emergency teams. The event took place on the evening of January 29, with emergency responders reaching the site just before 8:40 p.m. Early reports indicated that both vehicles had adult male drivers, both of whom suffered minor injuries in the collision. Paramedics assessed the drivers on-site and concluded that they needed to be transported for additional evaluation. One person was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital, and the other was transported to UCSD Medical Center. Both men were allegedly buckled up during the crash, which probably lessened the extent of their injuries. The precise reason for the collision remains undisclosed, with no other passengers reported on board. Traffic on Fifth Avenue was briefly disrupted while crews handled the scene and removed the vehicles. We wish both individuals a swift and complete recovery after Wednesday night’s accident.
