On December 4, 2025, a significant traffic collision led to severe injuries and resulted in the complete closure of Pacific Highway in both directions during the early hours of Thursday. According to reports from the San Diego Police Department, a crash took place near the area between SeaWorld Dr and Rosecrans St. The accident led to substantial injuries, but the exact number of people affected is yet to be disclosed by the authorities. Emergency teams arrived at the location just after 4:39 a.m. Motorists in the area were urged to steer clear of the roadway and use different routes. Both the northbound and southbound lanes of Pacific Hwy were closed after the accident. Authorities have not given a projected timeline for reopening while the investigation and cleanup are ongoing.
