San Diego, CA (January 30, 2026) – Emergency radio communications report that a man suffered minor injuries Wednesday evening when he was hit by a vehicle while crossing a street in the Normal Heights neighborhood. The incident took place on January 28 at around 8:11 p.m. Emergency responders found a 53-year-old male pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle that failed to stop at a stop sign while traveling at a very low speed—about 1 to 2 miles per hour. The man was alert and on his feet upon their arrival. He denied any head injury or loss of consciousness but described mild pain in the middle of his back and right side, where he landed upon impact. No visible signs of serious injury were present, and the patient exhibited movement in all limbs. Medical staff applied a cervical collar as a precaution and transported the man to a nearby facility for additional evaluation. No treatments were given during transport, and the patient’s condition stayed stable. The vehicle driver stayed at the scene, with no charges reported. Officials have yet to disclose further details on the incident. We hope the injured pedestrian makes a full and speedy recovery.
