San Diego, CA (January 1, 2026) – Emergency responders attended a pedestrian crash near UC San Diego after a woman was hit by a car while crossing Campus Point Dr on December 31. The incident took place outside a marked intersection, resulting in the pedestrian sustaining multiple injuries, including pain in her back, ribs, and foot. Medics evaluated the woman on-site and observed visible abrasions on her hands, along with indications of mid-thoracic back pain. She was completely alert, had stable vital signs, and remembered the whole incident. Paramedics took her to UCSD Hospital for additional assessment and care. Fire and EMS personnel verified that the vehicle was moving at approximately 30 mph upon impact, and the pedestrian did not pass under or over the car. Officials are probing the details of the crash, including any potential involvement of visibility or traffic factors. No additional details about the driver have been released at this time.
