San Diego, CA (May 19, 2026) – A 37-year-old woman was fatally struck by a vehicle in a shared driveway in San Diego’s Sorrento Valley neighborhood. The deadly accident happened at approximately 10:30 p.m. On Monday, May 18, at 10198 Wateridge Circle, a 40-year-old man pulled his 2025 Jeep Wrangler into the driveway, opened the garage door, and let his passengers get out. A female passenger exited the right rear door and proceeded toward the front right side of the car. As she did so, the driver turned left toward the open garage and hit her. The woman sustained fatal internal injuries and was declared dead at the scene. The woman’s identity has not been released. Officials stated that alcohol or drugs were not involved in the collision. Fault has yet to be established, but the matter is still under investigation and further information will be released as it becomes available.
