San Diego, CA (January 12, 2026) – Authorities are probing a hit-and-run crash that left people injured Saturday evening close to the Mission Center Rd and 8th St intersection in San Diego. The incident was reported at around 9:09 p.m. On January 11, dispatch audio revealed that authorities said the crash-causing driver first ran from the scene on foot before getting into a white SUV. The vehicle was last observed traveling north on Texas St. The number of people injured and the severity of their injuries remain unconfirmed. Emergency personnel arrived soon after the incident to treat the injured and support the investigation. The names of those involved have not been made public, and it’s still unknown how many vehicles were affected. San Diego police are conducting an active search for the suspect, while examining nearby surveillance videos and witness accounts in their probe.
