San Diego, CA (September 11, 2025) – A deadly car crash took place on Wednesday night on State Route 54 East close to the N 4th Ave onramp. This incident has led to an emergency response and a continuing investigation by the California Highway Patrol in the San Diego region. Emergency services, including paramedics and firefighters, arrived at the scene shortly after 5:25 p.m. after receiving information about a significant accident on the eastbound lane of SR-54. The accident took place at or close to the entrance ramp from N 4th Ave, a frequently utilized entry point in the South Bay area of San Diego County. When responders arrived, they found at least one person with serious injuries. Even with immediate medical assistance provided at the location, officials reported that one individual was declared dead due to the accident. The name of the deceased has not been disclosed as authorities wait to inform the family. Officials have not yet verified how many vehicles were involved or if there were additional injuries. Traffic on SR-54 East was affected as police handled traffic management and recorded details of the incident. The conditions surrounding the accident are still being thoroughly examined by the CHP San Diego.
