The incident took place on Tuesday, December 23, around 3:13 p.m. , based on details from public-safety dispatch communications. Dispatch logs reported a multi-vehicle crash, including at least one car traveling the wrong way on the road. The crash blocked the two right lanes of westbound I-8, creating dangerous conditions for drivers in the area. Emergency medical services and paramedics arrived on scene to assess the individuals involved and treat those with various injuries. Emergency operations continued in the vicinity as responders directed traffic and aided those impacted. Authorities have yet to disclose further information on the number of vehicles involved or the severity of the injuries, with the events preceding the crash still being investigated.
