San Diego, CA (September 17, 2025) – Early Tuesday morning, emergency responders were dispatched to a traffic collision resulting in injuries on the southbound lanes of Interstate 15 close to Aero Dr. The accident was reported at approximately 3:49 a.m. This led to a response involving two engines from San Diego Fire and Rescue, specifically Engine 28 and Engine 39. First responders, consisting of paramedics and fire staff, evaluated and provided care to those injured in the accident. The accident took place close to the B on-ramp at Aero Dr, a heavily trafficked location where cars enter the interstate. This section of I-15 frequently experiences a combination of fast-moving vehicles and sudden lane shifts, which increases danger during the early morning rush hour. Communications were conducted via tactical channels 7 Hotel and 7 India, allowing for organized emergency response efforts at the location. One lane was impacted due to the response activities, but comprehensive information about the number of vehicles involved and the level of damage is still being assessed. San Diego Police and Fire teams stayed on the scene for a considerable time, providing help to victims and looking into the details of the accident. The extent of the injuries has not been officially disclosed, but the presence of two fire engines indicates that it was a serious event with several casualties.
