San Diego, CA (September 18, 2025) – Late Wednesday night, emergency responders were called to the scene of a traffic accident resulting in injuries near the junction of Cherokee Ave and University Ave in the North Park district of San Diego. The incident was reported at approximately 11:11 PM. This incident elicited a reaction from Engine 14 and additional nearby units. The collision took place in a densely populated city area, flanked by homes, small shops, and a significant flow of pedestrians. Emergency responders arrived promptly and started attending to the injured in the accident. The specifics regarding the number of injured individuals have not been made public, but authorities have stated that some people needed medical assistance on-site. The accident occurred close to Hoke Ave, in a busy residential area where vehicle and pedestrian traffic frequently overlap during late hours. Responders used the tactical radio channel “7 Hotel” to manage the situation and direct traffic as paramedics evaluated the victims. While the extent of the injuries is still unknown, fire and medical teams stayed on-site for a prolonged period to ensure the safety and stabilization of everyone involved, as well as to clear the area. Currently, there are no updates on whether any victims have been taken to nearby hospitals. The reason for the crash is still being examined, and officials are anticipated to share more information as their investigation progresses.
