Roseville, CA (March 24, 2026) – A collision with a sheriff’s deputy en route to a reported school threat injured two people at the Sierra College Blvd and Douglas Blvd intersection. Emergency responders arrived after the crash, which happened as the deputy headed to Granite Bay High School amid a reported shooting threat. The incident occurred on Tuesday, March 24, at a bustling Roseville intersection. A deputy was observed being loaded onto a stretcher and transported into an ambulance after the crash. Another individual from the crash was also transported to a hospital for medical care. A red SUV present at the scene displayed noticeable damage after the incident. Officials kept a strong presence at the intersection for roughly an hour before clearing the area and restoring traffic flow. Further information on the crash circumstances and injury severity has not been disclosed yet. The investigation into the cause continues, with additional details to be shared once available. Our thoughts are with those impacted as they keep recovering. Why Intersections Are Frequent Sites for Emergency Response Crashes. Intersections rank among the most challenging spots on roads, particularly with emergency vehicles present. Emergency responders such as police, firefighters, and medical personnel often speed to urgent calls, encountering fast-evolving traffic conditions. Motorists nearing intersections may have little time to respond when an emergency vehicle enters the road. Even with lights and sirens on, traffic jams, vehicles turning, and changing signals can confuse other drivers. Many collisions with emergency vehicles happen when they cross or turn through intersections simultaneously with other cars.
