Riverside County, CA (May 16, 2026) – A deadly crash took place Friday morning on the southbound I-215 transition to westbound SR-91 in Riverside County. California Highway Patrol (CHP) arrived at the scene just before 7 a.m. , following reports of a major multi-vehicle collision. The crash occurred near the intersection of Magnolia Avenue and 14th Street, about 15 miles north of downtown Riverside. Traffic on the transition ramp and nearby lanes was briefly halted while emergency teams secured the scene and examined the crash. Tow trucks and the Riverside County Fire Department responded to the scene. CHP confirmed that one person was pronounced dead at the location. The names of the victim and any other injured individuals have not been made public yet. The collision led to major traffic backups in both directions, with drivers urged to steer clear of the area during the ongoing investigation.
