Riverside, CA (January 16, 2026) – A serious crash on southbound I-215 near Alessandro Blvd injured several people Tuesday morning in Riverside. The crash happened shortly before noon and involved two vehicles, with one reportedly ejecting an occupant on impact. Emergency responders hurried to the site and promptly started treating multiple injured people. At least one of the injured individuals needed immediate evacuation because of the seriousness of their injuries. First responders secured the scene, handling traffic control and medical aid. The event led to major freeway delays, blocking several lanes while the California Highway Patrol and Riverside County Sheriff’s Office oversaw the operation. Debris from the vehicle and the requirement for extensive medical aid led to prolonged delays in the area. The reason for the crash is still being investigated. Authorities have not yet revealed if speed, impairment, or other elements contributed to the severe collision.
