Redding, CA (April 8, 2026) – A law enforcement vehicle and a propane tanker truck collided in Redding on Wednesday morning, injuring two people. The crash happened around 10:37 a.m. On April 8, along Clear Creek Road east of Cloverdale Road. Officials reported that a sheriff’s deputy crashed into a 600-gallon AmeriGas propane tanker truck. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, where the deputy sustained serious injuries and the tanker driver had minor ones. The crash resulted in roughly 40 gallons of diesel fuel spilling onto the road, with more seeping into the dirt shoulder. A propane leak from the tanker was detected, leading to area evacuations until crews stopped it. Officials confirmed the spill was contained, with no impact on waterways. Further details on the events preceding the crash have not yet been disclosed. Officials are still probing the cause, and additional information will be shared once it is obtained.
