A red Tesla and a white Hyundai were involved in a collision on northbound Interstate 405 near University Drive in California on Aug. 24, 2026. The California Highway Patrol classified the incident as a traffic collision with no reported injuries.
The crash was reported at approximately 3:46 p.m. on the northbound side of the freeway, just north of University Drive. CHP dispatch information placed both vehicles on the right shoulder.
A dispatch update issued at about 3:48 p.m. confirmed the vehicle descriptions and their position on the shoulder. The available information did not indicate that either vehicle remained in a travel lane.
CHP listed the incident within its Santa Ana area. No injuries, additional emergency response, or other roadway impacts were reported in the available dispatch information.
