A rear-end hit-and-run collision was reported at Fairview Road and Hillcrest Road in California at about 3:45 p.m. on Aug. 31, 2026. The California Highway Patrol classified the incident as involving no reported injuries.
A dispatch update issued about four minutes later stated that the reporting party was struck from behind. The impact was described as occurring at approximately 40 mph.
The available CHP information did not include descriptions of the vehicles involved or identify the vehicle that left the scene. No suspect information was provided in the dispatch record.
The incident was handled within the CHP’s Hollister-Gilroy area. The dispatch information did not document lane closures, a medical response or additional roadway impacts.
