A possible three-vehicle collision was reported at about 3:19 p.m. Sept. 10 on northbound Winchester Road, or State Route 79, near Auld Road in the Temecula area. The California Highway Patrol recorded an ambulance as en route to the scene.
The collision location was described as northbound just south of the Winchester Road and Auld Road intersection. CHP dispatch information indicated that as many as three vehicles may have been involved.
A later update reported that occupants were walking in the traffic lanes. The dispatch did not provide confirmed information about injuries or identify the vehicles involved.
The available CHP information did not specify the duration of any lane obstruction or provide a later update on the roadway. Emergency medical assistance was being sent to the scene as the incident was being handled.
