Pomona, CA (January 28, 2026) – One man died and another was hurt in a deadly rollover crash Monday morning on the eastbound Pomona (60) Freeway near Garey Avenue, the California Highway Patrol reported. The crash happened around 8:04 a.m. On January 26th. Initial reports show that an eastbound vehicle flipped over and crashed into a guardrail for reasons that remain unclear. The collision resulted in extensive damage, prompting an immediate dispatch of emergency responders to the site. One adult male occupant was declared dead on scene. The identity has not been released yet, pending family notification. A second person was injured and taken to a nearby hospital for care. The extent of those injuries remains unconfirmed. The incident caused significant traffic delays, with authorities shutting down all eastbound lanes except the HOV lane for almost four hours to investigate and remove the debris. CHP is still investigating the factors behind the vehicle’s rollover and collision, such as speed, mechanical problems, or driver actions.
