Lancaster, CA (May 20, 2026) – A pedestrian sustained critical injuries after being struck by a vehicle early Wednesday morning near the intersection of Avenue J-8 and Sierra Highway in Lancaster. The call came in around 5:09 a.m. , and emergency services arrived soon after to administer CPR before transporting the individual to a nearby hospital. The driver remained at the scene following the crash. As of Wednesday morning, the pedestrian’s identity and current medical condition had not been disclosed. The incident occurred near the same intersection where another individual was hit by a vehicle last week and died en route to the hospital. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Wednesday’s collision. We wish a full and speedy recovery to the individual hurt in the road incident. Pedestrian collisions happening before dawn are frequently associated with poor visibility and insufficient time for drivers to react. Dim lighting, shadows, and faster-moving traffic in low-traffic conditions can make it more difficult for drivers to spot pedestrians crossing or walking close to the roadway.
