(Los Angeles, CA) Late Monday night, a pedestrian died after a vehicle struck them in a crash on Olive Street in downtown Los Angeles, with the driver fleeing the scene. The Los Angeles Police Department stated officers arrived around 10:16 p.m. To Olive Street, just north of 111th Place. Upon arrival, officers found a pedestrian who had sustained fatal injuries in the roadway. Emergency responders declared the pedestrian deceased at the scene. Authorities did not immediately disclose the victim’s name, age, or gender. Investigators stated that initial details show the vehicle was heading north on Olive Street when it hit the pedestrian. Police stated that the driver failed to stop and render assistance, fleeing the scene prior to the officers’ arrival. As of early Tuesday, no description of the vehicle or driver was available. Police have not reported any arrests, and several details about the events leading to the collision remain unknown.
